Rotary has many informal programs.  One it supports is "shelter box", which includes sending a complete box of tools to remote areas of the world in order to build shelters.  The program also supports teaching the residents how to use these tools.  In 2001, Powell River Rotarians travelled to Guatemala to teach and build homes for the local residents.  Click a link below for an article on the trip.
