Festival of Performing Arts Grand Concert

The 69th Powell River Festival of Performing Arts concluded Saturday, March 9th 2013 with the Grand Concert at Evergreen Theatre.
ARTS SUPPORT: Don James, Powell River Academy of Music founder and retiring music director, was recipient of the 2013 David Pike Award, recognizing his decades of support for the arts in this community. RBC branch manager Sylvie Thomson [right] presented the award at Powell River Festival of Performing Arts grand concert on Saturday. Emcee for the event, sponsored by The Rotary Club of Powell River, was Joyce Carlson.
Past District Governor for Rotary District 5040, Hans Doge, attended the 2013 Powell River Festival of Performing Arts for the second straight year.
Hans spoke to the full house about Rotary, especially Polio Plus, and handed out invitations to 23 performers who were recommended to Performing Arts BC, the provincial festival that will be held in Chilliwack this year.
