McMath Interact Awards Gala 2019

McMath Interact Awards Gala 2019

The McMath Interact Club would like to invite you to attend our 2019 Interact Awards Gala, a night full of inspiration, memories, and laughter as we celebrate our club’s year of ‘Service Above Self’!

Our event will be taking place on May 31st, 2019, from 6 PM - 9 PM at RA McMath Secondary in Richmond. The evening will include good food, dancing, performances, and fun - a dinner you wouldn’t want to miss.

After a year of numerous local and international service projects, we are excited to celebrate these efforts through the Interact Awards Gala by honouring and recognizing Interactors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership & commitment throughout this past school year. Through our awards such as ‘Top Interactor by Grade’, ‘Top Project Member’ and more, we hope to inspire future Interactors to take action and participate further. This Awards Gala also serves to strengthen bonds between the Rotary community as Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary clubs all across the lower mainland are invited to join us in sharing and reflecting on our accomplishments for this past year.

Tickets are now available online through the link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6wkICGykT2JuubGcYTLT0k-h9U_vSwjMvIGjydxCqQ9qJCA/viewform . Register by May 24th. Tickets cost $18/person or $15/person for the 6-person group rate.

We hope you and your Rotary/Rotaract club will join us for this night of celebration. We’d be extremely grateful if this invitation was passed on to Rotarians/Rotaractors at your next Rotary/Rotaract meeting. If you do choose to attend, please bring a dollar to donate to Assisting Atira. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Greeter Duties

Greeters are the first point of contact for guests, potential new members, and our members. Making all who attend our meeting feel welcome is the responsibility of all of us as we all take turns being greeters. All greeters should arrive no later than 6:40 am and be prepared to assist in setting up and preparing for the meeting. If a greeter cannot be present for their day of duties, please contact another member to fill in for you. Greeters will:

  • ensure that the sandwich board at the entrance.

  • ensure that flags and banners are in place.

  • welcome all members and guests and make them comfortable with the proceedings and surroundings, i.e., seating, coffee, schedule of meeting etc.

  • greet and sit with the speaker to gather information useful in providing a respectful and meaningful introduction of the speaker and the program.

  • thank the speaker and present the certificate of appreciation for their presentation. (Note: The certificate is NOT a contribution of $20.00 in the speakers’ name. We donate $20.00 to the Rotary Foundation in recognition of their presentation at the meeting.)

  • assist in taking down the flags, banners and place the sandwich board back in Kathy's office.

Good Host Program

Image

The Good Host program is how YOU can get involved - you are invited to help out by meeting, greeting and sharing cultural experiences with our Youth Exchange student. Leo Wolff (Germany) is here and deserve to see and experience Canada to the fullest.

Any one of us can be Good Hosts by simply sharing some time with Leo. A phone call, lunch, dinner with family, sporting event, cultural outing, almost anything goes. However - all who host our youth exchange student unsupervised - even for a day event - must have submitted their Criminal Checks online prior to hosting. Submit the report to Rick Molstad.

Please remember to include our youth exchange students in any activities you and your family participate in. Please speak to Leo directly or contact him at:
