7:00 – Our President, Gordon Hobbis, officially opened our meeting with the signing of our national anthem, “Oh, Canada,” followed by the Word of the Day.
 
7:05 - Breakfast was served.
 
7:25 - Introduction of guests, Clemence (via Skype), Franciele (our exchange student), Rick’s guests from Brazil, Roy’s guest from Scotiabank, and our guest speaker Blythe Dixon.  Sorry if we missed any of you!
 
7:30 – Minutes at the Mic. 
 
David has tickets for Heart of the Matter for $125.  Kathy filled the new members in on the details of Heart of the Matter, which is a collaborative event put on by the Royal City Rotary Club in partnership with Monarch Place and the Burnaby Rotary Club celebrating Valentine’s Day (for the 19th consecutive year) to raise money for community projects.  Will be held at the Inn at the Quay, with Champagne reception, Silent and Live auctions, wine with dinner, proceeds to be split three ways, with our club primarily supporting the Dr. Njenga Foundation.
 
Gloria informed us about the Rotary Day of Dialogue, which is more of a talk WITH Rotarians, as opposed to a talk TO Rotarians.  Monica is also attending.
 
Sandy reminds us to invite Fran (our exchange student) out to any events you may be attending.
 
Paige informed us Sundays at noon our club and noon club meet for our New Generation Youth Initiative.  Gordon will also be attending.
 
Bob spoke about Rotary Foundation, and is looking for ways to increase club donations.
 
Roy makes his weekly video tribute for Doug Fynn.
 
7:35 – Tony collects our Happy Dollars and we drew our 50/50 tickets. 
 
7:45 – Our guest speaker, Blythe Dixon, spoke about her experience in the Rotary Youth Exchange program on her recent trip to Brazil. 
 
8:00 – President Gordon Hobbis closed with the Four Way Test and a Toast to the Queen by Rick.
