700 - Gordon Hobbis, President, officially opened our meeting with all of us singing Oh Canada (moderately better than previous attempts), followed by quotes of the day by Nick from Winston Churchill.

715 - Guests:  Heidi Hughes (waiting new member), exchange student Franciele slept in today and did not attend, Neely Hazell friend of Lizz.
 
730 - Minutes at the Mic:
 
-  Gord, thanked Dave and Alana for all their hard work at the weekly meetings.  
 
-  He also invited Fran to Pickle Ball next Tuesday and informed us that Fran would like to go too Science World and camping, not a lot enthusiasm from the club members, however suggestions that Kathy and Lorna take her. 
 
-  Sandy suggested we check with Hansi first to host Franciele on outings, which she is free from school on the following days Feb 8, 19, 22,24; March 14 to 24,25 & 28.
         
-  Paige informed us of the New Generations meeting Saturday, Jan 30, 9 am at Waves Coffee Shop on 6th Ave and 6 St in New Westminster.
         
-  Kathy, informed us of the entrance to Quayside from Begbie St will be closed for a week. 
 
-  $85 is still need to buy 12 wine bottles (Around the World) to auction off.  All auctioned prizes are to be delivered by end of next week and to get all paper work to Aman and Monica as soon as possible. 
         
-  Harvey has nothing to say
         
-  Rick updated us on how well Grace Suazo’s speech was at the Ambassador President’s Tea.  Royal City Rotary has been sponsoring an ambassador for over 20 years and is looking for volunteers. 
         
-  Richard Prill let us know that there is a charity called Toque Tuesday, helping out the poor in local communities.  He is looking for volunteers to sell these toques ($10 ea) at the Skytrain station and City Hall. 
         
-  Roy, took a video for Doug Finn of the members loudly greeting him
         
-  Wendy, informed us about the Investors Group “Walk for Alzheimer’s”  on May 1 at Burnaby Lake and asked for volunteers to help.
         
-  Tony, reminded us that the HOM raffle tickets need to be returned soon
         
-  Dave, let us know that the HOM tickets have been pretty much sold out, but need people to pick up their tickets.
         
-  Kelly passed around a email from Dorine Adhiente, a sponsor at St Mary’s in Africa.  She has been sponsored for about four years. 
         
-  Monica, informed us that it is Chocolate Cake Day. 
 
-  Also HOM has spots left for advertisers, she will be calling you
         
-  Bob updated us that the Susan and Wendy are  in 3rd and 4th spots respectively for the Hockey pool.
 
-  Sadly we did not get to sing happy a birthday today.....Gord figure that no one is getting any older
 
-  Holiday update:  Sandy & Paige going to Mexico for 9 days; Robert and his wife going to New Delhi and then to Dubai for a couple of weeks.  Lizz’ s son is going to Utah for the World Cup Skiing competition

7:40 - Nick introduced Craig Longstaff, General Manager at the Honour House Society.  The Honour House is a home away from home and a place of recovery for our Canadian Forces, Emergency Services Personnel, Veterans and their families.
