The following is an excerpt from Detective Carrigan's thank you letter to the Club:

Hello, Mr. Gipson. I just wanted to thank you and the Rotary Club for recognizing me as Detective of the year for 2013. It is a great honor to be recognized by your organization with it's rich history in service to the community. Please forward my thanks to all of the members of your Rotary Club. They were very kind to my coworkers and I. The Rotary Club members are a great group of people. I was particularly impressed by the fact that you guys still say the Pledge of Allegiance before each meeting.
