RC Burnaby Metrotown has funded and participated in numerous literacy projects through the years. Most recently, we have supplied Birthday Books for students at Maywood Community School, in Burnaby. This program allows each child in the school to select a brand-new book to take home as a gift from Rotary.

"I am not exaggerating when I say that the biggest and perceived roughest of our students act like a five year old, giggling with excitement, after receiving their new jacket ...and I am forever thankful for the Rotary's kindness!!! As the Community School Coordinator at Byrne Creek and someone who dearly cherishes our students, I do not have the words to express my deepest gratitude for all that the Coats for Kids volunteers have done for our students over the past four years. Thank you!!!"
