City of Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan declared October 8-14th "Homeless Action Week". Over the month of October, the Rotary Club of Burnaby Metrotown is collecting toiletries to fill 50 backpacks for homeless citizens in Burnaby. We are filling the backpacks on October 31st at our luncheon meeting - 12:15-1:15 and will be handing them over to Wanda Mullholland of the
Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby.
If you would like to help fill the bags by donating supplies please contact us at stbrandl@telus.net. We are looking for the following;
- Comb, brush
- Disposable razor, shaving cream
- Floss, mouthwash, lipbalm
- Deodorant
- Soap, shampoo, towelettes/toilet paper
- Feminine Products
- Water bottle
- Paper/pen
If you can make the Oct. 31st luncheon, please come ready to roll up your sleeves and help our Burnaby citizens!
