Take a Hike Youth at Risk Foundation

Deb Abma Sluggett is the Manager of Philanthropy and Government Relations at Take A Hike Youth At Risk Foundation. Take a Hike is a full-time alternative education program that engages at-risk youth through a unique combination of adventure-based learning, academics, therapy, and community involvement. Deb is passionate about Take A Hike and the students that they support. As a mom of 4 she is dedicated to working on behalf of the youth and families and the community that supports Take A Hike. She is a passionate, people-focused non-profit leader with 20+ years of service and non-profit experience and a proven track record for finding creative solutions for people and causes. She is delighted to be able to share with the Burnaby Rotary club about Take A Hike Youth at Risk Foundation and the impact this program is having on youth and their families in Burnaby, Vancouver and the West Kootenays.
