Condolences Peter Uzande

Club Secretary Peter Uzande in Zimbabwe

Peter's father passed away last week after an time of illness. Peter was able to be with him for the last two months of his life.

Our thoughts are with Peter and his family at this sad time and also with Mellary who is at home in Australia.

Lift the Lid

Special arrangement with Bunnings allowed us to promote the "Lift the Lid" project at two recent sausage sizzles.

As a result we received donations of over $100 in for specific designation.

The Board will determine what addition amount may be added from the proceeds of sales.

Bunnings sausage sizzles continue to be a good source of income for use in local community projects.

The monthly Friday events are not huge money makers but the dedicated group of people who are able to commit to this have a great deal of fun and fellowship. It is also an excellent PR event for Rotary

Last Friday Frank decided to bring the EFTPOS machine and while it didn't result in huge increase it did provide some fun. One customer who helps for another organisation said it was the first time she had seen FTPOS facilities made available.

Weekly Meeting
Apparently we do not have a speaker for this Wednesday.

Maybe it will be an opportunity to have another look at ClubRunner to see how it can help us.
Hat Day Function

On Wednesday 26th October we will join with the Rotary Club of Rosanna and Greensborough Central at the Austrian Club to celebrate the Rotary Hat Day.

There will be no lunch time meeting on the 26th October.

Members please register interest with Joy Ferguson or Christine Shields.

Tracey Wood, speaks on literacy

We were delighted to hear author, teacher & public speaker Tracey Wood, speak on literacy - the old & new. How many of you have heard this rhyme? " when two vowels go out walking, the first vowel does the talking" Tracey shared this tool and many others to help improve literacy rates for all.
