News from the Board
One of the items raised during recent club discussions was a request for minutes of the Board to be circulated. From time to time the Board is required to discuss items of a sensitive nature and such are best not published although minutes are available, after confirmation, on our webpage with a login required. In the interest of better communication President Zilis is requesting that decisions of the Board be shared with members and this is in response to that.

The Board met on Wednesday 10th April.
Members present were
Zilis Hardiman (President), Bill Carter, Cheryl-Lee Carter, Frank Donegan. David Ling and Nalin Perera.
Apology: Margaret McPherson.

We record having reviewed aspects of the results of the recent survey of Club Members. 16 Survey responses were received.
A number of possibilities were discussed and the following motion passed:
That the Survey results be summarised and presented to the Club at an assembly on the 6th of May and that a combined outgoing and incoming Board Meeting be scheduled for the 8th May to decide on the next steps.

Other items from the Board are also listed:

  • District Assembly Report
We note that District is again emphasising the need for members to have a current “Working with Children” check.

  • Secretary
In the absence of other responses and because of the urgency of the matter, David Ling has agreed to accept the Secretary Role for 2019-2020 year for all compliance areas.
  • Membership
Unfinancial Members.
We note that there are still some members who have not paid their dues.
Some follow up will be undertaken by President Zilis and PP David.
The May combined Board Meeting will decide on the process for unfinancial members.

  • Fellowship & fund raising
The report was received and a major component was the Relay for Life event that is subject of another article in this Bulletin.
  • Service projects
That as a response to the talk from Rev Dave Fuller at our Club Meeting we viewed a needs list provided at our request. We agree to provide the trolley equipment for the All Saints Community Meals programme costed at just over $900.
That we investigate the possibility of funding the Bain Marie in 2020 with a fundraising dinner at All Saints in conjunction with a District Grant application.
  • Community…..
The Community Report was presented and adopted.
We agree to participate in the Springthorpe Christmas Party on the 7th. December by providing a sausage sizzle and drinks with processes coming to our club fundraising.

  • International
We record having received a renewal for Tenderfoot student programme  with a new student being offered.
We agree to pay the renewal amount of $295.
