Happy New Year

A borrowed quote

The time to change our old calendar with the new calendar which is completely filled with the new beginnings, new expectations, and new memories. New Year is celebrated by everyone across the world with great fun and joy.

Change of day for weekly meetings.

After many years of meeting on Wednesdays at lunch time, the Rotary Club of Greensborough has changed to meet on Mondays from 1.00pm to 2.00pm.

Recent attempts to find a suitable venue for lunch time meetings have proved very difficult. For the past 6 months we have been meeting at the Greensborough RSL and while this is an excellent venue, the room available to us is too small to accommodate present and anticipated numbers from here on.

The calendar year will commence with two fellowship days, the first on the 16th at the home of David and Betty Ling and the second at Joy Ferguson's on the 23rd. See events for more details.

Our regular weekly meeting will commence on Monday the 30th January at All Saints Anglican Church in Greensborough where we have been able to secure a booking in their supper room area.

We are looking forward to a great second half of the Rotary Year.
New Venue

New Venue for Rotary club of Greensborough

Commencing on Monday the 30th of January 2017, the weekly meetings of RCG will be held at  All Saints’ Anglican Church 14 Church Street Greensborough, 3088.

The Club has had several changes in recent times and this one is brought about because of limited space available at the previous venue.

Meetings will be held in the supper room area which is just inside the front doors. The room is also close to the Bookshop / Coffee Shop and provides  facilities that will meet Club needs and provide for anticipated membership growth.

Public car parking is available on the opposite side of the street and the general location fits the purpose of RCG to continue to be a lunch time club catering for business people in the precinct together with easy access for those coming from further away in our area.

January Startup

January Start up for our meetings has been put back to the 16th.

Given that we will now be holding our meetings on Monday it has been decided that we will recommence activities on the 16th January with an informal fellowship luncheon at the home of David and Betty Ling in Doreen. You will find the details in the events list.

The second of these Fellowshio Meetings will be held at the home of Joy Ferguson on the 23rd, details also in events.

To help with catering please respond to the personal invitation you will receive by email.
Two January Fund Raisers

We have two weekend Bunnings BBQs in January. Help is needed.

Our Monthly Friday BBQ has been changed to Saturday 7th January. Bunnings offered us the change for this month only.
This means that we could make up to 3 times as much income but it also requires 2 or 3 extra people at least.

it also requires 2 or 3 extra people at least.

If you can help please respond urgently to the person email you will receive.
We also have a Sunday event on the 15th so full on but the financial potential is excellent. Joy has some names and is in charge of the arrangements for this one.

I hope we hear from you soon.

The Rotary Support Center has earned BenchmarkPortal's certification as a Center of Excellence, a noted designation in the customer service and support industry. The certification puts Rotary's Support Center in the top 10 percent of industry peers that requested evaluation by BenchmarkPortal. The Rotary Support Center received nearly 50,000 phone calls and 84,000 email requests for help last year. "I am so proud and happy to have such a great team who continue to reach higher levels of performance and break new records and exceed the goals," says Howard Henry, Support Center manager. "This...

When we introduced Rotary Club Central in 2012, it revolutionized goal tracking and planning for clubs and districts — no more filling out paper club-planning forms or passing along boxes of historical club information every time a new leader took office. Rotary Club Central offered clubs and districts a quantifiable way to begin measuring local and global impact, specifically membership initiatives, service activities, and Rotary Foundation giving. But as with any technological advancement, in a few short years, Rotary Club Central began to show its age, and Rotarians took notice. They...

At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs. Rotary bylaws require the Board to complete a comprehensive review of the 34 Rotary zones no less often than every eight years to ensure that each zone has an approximately equal number of Rotarians. The Board’s previous review of the zones occurred in 2008. The Board earlier approved the creation of three regional workgroups to develop rezoning proposals for Asia, Europe/Africa, and the Americas. These workgroups comprised one representative (either a current director,...

Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotary members have supported thousands of projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, and grow local economies. We’ve also led the fight to eradicate polio worldwide. As part of our celebration of the Foundation’s centennial, we’re honoring 20 global grant projects with special recognition. Learn more about the projects using our interactive map.

The Atlanta Host Organization Committee is offering some good old-fashioned Southern hospitality at the Rotary International Convention from 10 to 14 June. It has planned a wide range of activities featuring everything from good food and music to inspiring tours of local landmarks. If it’s your first convention, these events are chances to meet fellow Rotarians from around the world, and if you’re an experienced convention goer, you can catch up with old friends. Hall of Fame baseball player Hank Aaron will host Rotarians for a “Strike Out Polio” night at the new SunTrust Park, where you’ll...
