Todays Meeting

- Happy birthday to Johnathan Chen on May 10th!
- The clothing featuring Give Polio the Finger raised over $350 that we will donate to Polio Plus. Thanks for all who supported this fundraiser!
- Have you looked at the speaker schedule of the Rotary International Convention coming up in early June? There will be streaming opportunities to join in virtually- more details to follow.  https://convention.rotary.org/en/houston
- RYLA is back on in person as a 1 day event on May 21st in Upham Woods near Wisconsin Dells. Our Club sponsors 3 students, one from each HS, and we need to transport them to the meeting, leaving around 7:30 AM. Sue Boettcher would really appreciate it if another Rotarian could step in and drive the students TO RYLA. They have a ride home at the end of the day. If you can help out, please let Sue know ASAP.
- The weekly drawing of $20 was won by Lois, our newest multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
- Our next Supper Club Fellowship is scheduled for 5.24 at Stagecoach. Dave has reserved 20 seats, and will have sign up sheet at next week's meeting. You can also email him if you're planning on attending, dave@davesace.com. Let us know if you have any questions. This is a fun and delicious) way to get to know your fellow Rotarians. Spouses are welcome!
- Remember that next Monday, May 16th, is our Scholarship presentation meeting. This is always an exciting day and we expect to have somewhere around 70 students and faculty attending. Come a bit early, and sit 1 or 2 to a table, if possible, so students can join you. This is your fundraising at work, brightening the future for Students as they start their post graduation education. Come enjoy it!
- Karl is going to be coordinating our Club getting on the schedule for Meals on Wheels food deliveries in Janesville. We need to calculate the number of interested Rotarians and will have an informational meeting directly after our regular meeting on 5.23. Look for more details on that soon, or reach out to Karl if you have questions.
- Dan D announced that we will be giving out Sponsorship opportunity information for our fundraising Calendar Raffle at next week's meeting. Since we are having the free Corn drive through event again, we need to do as much fundraising as possible through sponsorships and Calendar sales. There are different sponsorship levels, from up to $100 for recognition on a flyer, up to $300 for a yard sign at the event, and $500 or $1000 gets placement on the Raffle ticket. Details next week!

Sandy Johnson, Director of CASA Rock County, and CASA advocate Toni Rossmuller spoke to us today about the service and support CASA volunteers provide to the Court for the over 5000 children in foster care in Rock County. There is a new training session for advocates starting in June, and if you think this might be a good fit for you, or you'd like more information, reach out to Sandy through: https://www.casarockcounty.org/
