Todays Meeting
- Happy Birthday to Sherri Sargent today, Lisa T on 5.29, and Jeff S. on 5/31!
- As a reminder: NO MEETING NEXT WEEK on Memorial Day. Enjoy the long weekend and gathering (as you can) with family and friends, as we honor those who died while in active military service.
- Today we gave our first scholarship in honor of our longtime Rotarian Hal Robb, to a student from RCCS who will go on to study at Blackhawk Technical College. Thanks to Gregg Dickinson for being the driver behind this and presenting our first Hal Robb scholarship. Hal would be so pleased.
- Today we also gave out a total of $19,000 in scholarships to happy students (see Zoom video) who are looking forward to their future after a very difficult 14 months. These scholarships are funded by our Corn Roast Mud Volleyball event, and we are fortunate to be in a position to continue this tradition going into our second year without our fundraising event. Get ready- next year we will be back, bigger and better than ever! In the meantime, here is one more example of why we do what we do.
- I stopped at the CVB after our meeting and bought some 'rubber duck' race tickets to honor Bob Kimball. How many of us will honor his sense of fun and buy into a chance to float rubber ducks down the Rock River? June 8th at 5:30! Should be a really fun downtown family event!
- Check your information when you get the next Membership lists and make sure everything is up to date and accurate.
