Red Badge and Induction
Today we inducted our new member Renae Henry, sponsored by Dan. Renae may be familiar to some of you from years past, and you'll hear more from her in her Red Badge talk soon. In the meantime, give her a warm welcome- we're glad you've joined us!
Paul Harris Fellow
Dave Arndt received his Paul Harris +7 recognition today. Rotary recognizes members who make a donation of $1000 to the RI Foundation as a Paul Harris Fellow. Thanks to Dave's generosity, the Foundation continues to provide Grants to fund projects for those in need around the world.

Todays Meeting
- Happy New Year, Rotarians! And a happy birthday this week to Ray Kitson on 1.12, and Gary Bersell on 1.14!
- Mandy has emailed everyone a sign up for our 5th Monday Social event on 1.31, which will be a private tour of Milton House. Please look for her email and sign up. This should be a great experience and opportunity to connect with your fellow Rotarians outside of our meetings.
- Our joint Service Club meeting will be rescheduled in late April or May.
- Rick won the 50/50 pot of $40(ish) and graciously left the Joker card for the next drawing, or 2. That's a 50/50 chance for the next winning ticket to win the $1379 pot! Bring your $ next week if you want in.
- Today we heard from our students Jacob Kranz and Tadyn McCann. You can learn more about them in the Zoom recording.
- Our July-December accomplishments are listed below. We have much to be proud of during a difficult second half of 2021, and that is thanks to YOU, our membership. Imagine what we can get accomplished between January and the start of our new Rotary year in July! Up first in the new calendar year are our Community Grants, which are awarded in March. The application form can be found on our website home page. Please share the opportunity with any organization you think would be a good fit for one of our $1000 Grants.
- Our next Board meeting will be held on January 19th. If you have any concerns you would like addressed, please let me know. All members are welcome to attend.

Denise prepared a lively and not-at-all-boring tax talk sharing her expertise from 21 years as a tax preparation professional. She covered topics such as the benefits of the Donor Fund, QDC, the Child Tax Credit, and shared lots of 'did you know?' facts, including the fact that Federal Tax was enacted in 1930 and Wisconsin state tax started in 1961. Watch the meeting recording to learn more. You won't be able to catch candy virtually, but you may learn some tax facts. Denise is available to answer your questions at Hagen CPA.

Tips to have that talk

As the first organization to envision a polio-free world through mass immunization of children, Rotary believes the decision to vaccinate is a humanitarian imperative.
