Today's Program

  • Today we had 35 people join us in our GoToMeeting. Click on the link below to watch and listen to what you missed! You'll hear Gretchen Wolf give her new Member Red Badge talk and learn about her life to date and passions. The 2 organizations she works with that are mentioned in her bio are: https://heartsupport.com/ and https://lifepromotions.org/. You'll also be treated to a Red Badge 'rewind' from Whitey Brunsell. Fin fact: he joined Rotary in 1982, and his highlight was the start of he & Leslie's Exchange Student journey. They have hosted many, many Students from countries including Russia, Belgium, Spain and France (to name a few), and traveled much of the world visiting the friends they have made through this RI program.
  • Our Board Meeting is Wednesday 6.17 at 7:30 AM. Email Mandy if you'd like a link to join. Stay tuned for an announcement after the Board decides which format we'll be using next month for our meetings.
  • Thanks to Aaron for arranging an opportunity to help Rotary Gardens with some weeding/planting at 9 AM on 6.17. Go to the Horticultural Center and help beautify the Gardens fr the Summer. All are welcome!
  • This Saturday is the Virtual Rotary Fest and our District 6250 virtual conference that was scheduled to be held in Ft Atkinson: https://rotary6250.org/stories/virtual-rotaryfest-it-only-takes-15-seconds-to-register/ Please give it some time - I promise you'll be energized and enthusiastic about being a Rotarian and all the good we can do in these difficult times.
  • Crop Report: Crops look "super good"! Arndt Farms does their own weeding application and he discussed the importance of precise application and knowing what you're doing. There's still time, I think, to go in search of his fields of Mint. A drive down the country roads by those fields is a fragrant experience!
  • Who is going to take over reporting on our weekly meetings as of July 6th? Reach out to Lynn if you're interested in learning more.
Today we honored 2 members who have served our Club for a very long time in 2 important positions: Tom Jacob and Madge Murphy. While Tom has served us in many roles, he is best known for being our Sargent At Arms for 21 years.  He handled all physical and mechanical aspects of our Meetings and maintained records and member data, to list a few things. Every week when you arrived and found everything ready to go, it was thanks to his early arrival and arrangements. Expect to see Rick Mueller in his place going forward and find Tom at a table seat. Madge has been our Club Treasurer for 10 years, and while that position helped her learn all aspects of Janesville Noon Rotary, she plans to be involved in other areas as her role is assumed by Denise Webb.
Huge gratitude to these 2 exemplary Rotarians and their Service Above Self for a combined 31 years of Service to Janesville Noon Rotary! Thanks also to Denise and Rick for stepping forward into these important positions.
Due to technical difficulties, we will not be able to share the video of our Meeting on 6.15- we are sorry for the inconvenience!
