The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. Dave Warren has been a leader in our Club sharing his passion for the Foundation, and you should listen to what he has to share in the Zoom recording.
You know that Rotary was started by Paul Harris, and you've seen many of our members be recognized as Paul Harris Fellows, including Denise Webb who has reached her 8th today! There is so much to learn about the Foundation, and explore it here: https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary/rotary-foundation
Dave explained that when you reach a $1000 donation to the Foundation will earn you Paul Harris recognition. Your donations also earn you equal recognition points, and Dave has generously offered to match your donation amount with an equal number of points- times 3! This means (for example) if you donate or pledge to donate through EREY $250 annually, his triple point donation will bring you to a $750 total towards a Paul Harris. After the meeting, Mick upped the ante by offering to MATCH Dave's 3 X point match. You can calculate how quickly you would reach the Paul Harris level. If you're ready to learn more and start sup[porting the Foundation, let Dave know by Monday December 19th. It couldn't be easier to sign up and have your donation automatically withdrawn at a frequency and level of your choice. Last year our Club donated $23,000 to the RI Foundation, making us the 2nd highest per capita Clun in District 6250. In 3 years, half of that money will come back to our District to be used for Grants.
Dave's comprehensive presentation is worth the time to watch if you missed the meeting.
