- Our Corn drive through and Making the Grade event is 27 days away- August  21st! Do you have your packet of 10 Calendar Raffle tickets to sell? If not, reach out to Rick and set a time to pick up at Jax printing.  The first drawing will be on Monday Aug.23rd at our meeting ($1000 winner!) and continue each week until the final drawing on 12.20 ($1000 again!). Drawn tickets are returned to the drum for another chance so people can win more than once. That's 15 drawings for $25, and a total of $4,200.00 in payouts. Only 1000 tickets will be sold. Please make an effort to sell your 10 tickets, and then keep going! Your friends and co workers will thank you when their name is drawn! Bring ticket stubs and payment in to the meeting each week. We take credit cards! Ask Vicki how-
- Happy Dollars: Our 3 week total of good news happy $ has added $59 to our fundraising efforts. Bring your good news (and $!) to our meeting next week- it's a good way to lead off our gatherings!
- Enjoy all that you do. That was the message from Hal Robb shared by his family at the celebration of his life on Sunday. His daughter Karen said that he went on a bike ride in late September, was active right up until 'not feeling well' in late October, and all 3 kids described the end of his life as a blessing. A life well lived.
- This Sunday, August 1st from 2-4, the family of Bob Yahr is having a celebration of his life at Rotary Gardens. His singular focus on converting a bike track and gravel pit to what is now a renowned horticultural Garden is a treasure for those who live here and has brought countless people to our community over the years. All are welcome to say hello to his family and pay your respects.
- The weekly raffle pot of $16 was won by Gary Smith, and the JP of $783 rolls over.  21 cards left- who will pull the joker??
- If you would like to join the group kayaking on August 7th, please RSVP to Cassie's email NOW so she can finalize arrangements. If you can't kayak but would like to come to Kathy and Dave Arndt's home for a picnic meal at 1:30, RSVP on that too, so we have an accurate head count. We hope many of you can come join in some fun and fellowship on the 7th!
- If you have time on Wednesday from 12-1 to join a really informative Zoom call, LaCrosse Rotary has 2 speakers line dup to share their expertise on how to select, proceed, and succeed with Operation Pollinator projects during RI's Days of Service week scheduled this October. What's Operation Pollinator? What's this focus on Days of Service, and how does it tie into Rotary's new 7th avenue of focus, the environment? Sign up for the Zoom meeting and learn more!

Mary Ann Raash, Executive Director and Brittany Brandt, Development Manager from GIFTS Mens Shelter joined us today. Mary Ann spoke about having Police Chief David Moore come speak to the residents recently as part of their in house outreach programming and the different perspective some men had to law enforcement from the safety of the shelter as they work to rebuild their lives. GIFTS has grown from its beginnings in 2007 with 4 Churches providing overnight shelter to partnership with 40 Churches and a permanent shelter for 40 men, a transition home, and a thrift store. After a difficult year, plans are moving ahead to get the shelter back to full capacity and rehab the Life Recovery House, while continuing the Christ based programming that will help give men the tools they need to reestablish their independence. They keys to their future success depend in large part to their willingness to work with their recovery Coach. GIFTS relies on Volunteers in  many areas, including meal service (4 people per dinner), Coaches, Thrift store staffing. Would you like to schedule a date (or 2) for our Club to provide meals in August or early September? Reach out to Brittany at outreach@giftsshelter.org and announce it to our members.
