Haiti Well project 2021-22
Our first Haiti water well was spearheaded by Ted Walton around 15 years ago. Over the years our Club has sent over $50,000 to Haiti Outreach to build life sustaining water wells. In honor of the Rotarians we have lost in the past year- Hal Robb, Bob Yahr, Bob Kimball, and Andy Walton- Dave wanted to raise the funds to build a new well in their honor. Gregg Dickinson immediately stepped forward to offer $10,000 to kickstart the $18,000 cost. The Board approved funding $2500  last month. Todd Kimball donated another $1000, and Dave Warren added another $1000 today. Every amount will help to reach the $18 K so a well can be scheduled next year (hopefully), and it's our hope to complete the fundraising before Thanksgiving. Any donations can be made to the Foundation- reach out to Vicki for details.
Thanks to Dave for sharing Haiti Outreach story with Golden K's, and for Gregg for so generously starting the fundraising. It will be a proud day for all of us when we dedicate a new well in the honor of these Rotarians.
Happy Dollars
Good news was shared by quite a few today, and we added $37 to our fundraising efforts. Thanks to all who shared positive news!

Crop Report- Dave Arndt
Dave brought in some corn and soy plant examples to demonstrate the growth difference between irrigated and non irrigated crops- a dramatic difference. You'll want to view the examples if you missed it- in the meeting recording. Water is everything- to crops and humanity.
Thanks, Dave!
Red Badge and Induction
Kurt Saterbak, sponsored by Rick, was inducted into membership today. Familiar to many of you, Kurt was a Janesville Noon Rotarian from 2008-2014, and then a Rotarian in Walworth from 2019-21. Welcome back, Kurt! He also introduced himself with his Red Badge talk afterward- hear from him directly in the meeting recording.
Liz Menz (also familiar to many of you!) gave her Red Badge intro talk today as well. She shared some of her passions (fellowship group, anyone??) and will be a real asset to our Club. Welcome, Liz!
Meal Costs announcement
Denise presented a thorough presentation on how we are moving forward with our meeting meals starting September 27. After comparing other catering options, Best Events will give us the best value and variety. The new meal price will be $12.50. You may choose to eat a meal (or not) and will be billed quarterly for the meals you consume. There will be a sign up sheet at the front of the meal line and you will check mark yourself  when you get your meal.
If you have any questions about this change, please ask Denise or any Board member. If you missed hearing the presentation yesterday, you can view it all in the meeting recording.
Be patient as we work out any kinks from this new system.
