New Member Red Badge Introduction
Elissa Russell was a member of LaCrosse After Hours Club and transfered her membership to us when job transfers relocated she & her husband. She had worked for APTIV for 3 years and is happy to continue working with an organization she loves here in Janesville. She enjoys reading, traveling, and balancing his love of adventure with her preference for"slower pursuits". She has found Janesville and our Club to be welcoming- we're really glad you've joined us!

  • Space is available for the Supper Club Fellowship event on 10.23 at the Butterfly Club. Sign up with Dave Warren and come enjoy dinner with your fellow Rotarians!
  • We received a thank you note from the House of Mercy for a food donation.
  • Any past Presidents interested in helping Aaron, John and Mark with the nominating committee, let them know.
  • LAST CHANCE to sign up for Vocational Day on Monday! Steve S has emailed out information on the locations, and if you haven't signed up yey, NOW is the time! It may go without saying, but no meeting at Rotary Gardens on 10.15 as we will all be enjoying vocational day.
  • You should have received your Save the Date card for our big Centennial Celebration on 12.6. SAVE THE DATE!!
  • Also save the Date for our Packer Party to Tackle Polio on 10.28 at Sneakers. This will include a meat raffle, Raffles, and the chance to win 2 tickets to a Packer game. Stay tuned for more details- we hope to raise $3000 to help eradicate Polio, and watch the Packers beat the Rams.
  • District 6250 One Summit 2018-19 is coming up on 10.24 in Fort Atkinson. You can register at www.rotary6250.org/OneRotarySummit2018. This is an opportunity to learn why and how Rotary is changing lives in our communities and around the world.
  • Raffle: Melissa (guest of our Speaker) won the $29 pot. JP of $62 rolls over.
Our Speaker today was Randy Bryce, Wisconsin First Congressional District Democratic candidate. See his flier below to learn more about his platform. He was asked questions about Foxconn, Medicare for all, raising the minimum wage and the effect that has on small businesses, term limits for Congress, and his opinion on the Electoral College.

Students of the Month
Riley Meyer is a member os SNHS, LINK Crew, and plays in Band and Jazz Band. He works as a JSOL guide and has completed his work to obtain an Eagle Scout ranking in Boy Scouts. He participates in Track. He loves the Robotic Club, and is a mentor at Van Buren for their Robotics Club from September to February. He will attend UW Madison for Biomedical Engineering with a double major in Spanish and Bio Chemistry.
Evan Jensen is a member of NHS, an Officer of SNHS while completing 11 AP classes and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He played Football for 2 years, and LaCrosse for 4 years. He plays Tenor Sax in Band and performs in Spotlighters Show Choir. He is a member of the National Ocean Sciences bowling team as well. He plans to attend UW MSN, IL, or Perdue to study Chemistry.
