We did an in-meeting service project.  Each Rotarian took a couple of beginning to read books, added a Rotary sticker to the inside cover, inserted some fun Halloween stickers and wrote a short note to the child receiving the book.  We sent a box of 52 books back with Alice Erickson from One City Schools to distribute to the K-5 kindergarten class.

Alice Erickson, Volunteer Coordinator for One City Schools, shared with us some history about One City Schools including that the school is charted by the University of Wisconsin.  This charter allows children from all over Wisconsin to attend – and they do from as far away as Janesville.  One City Schools has an enrollment of over 500 children and a waiting list of 400 children.  Alice also shared her personal volunteer journey with One City Schools and the many volunteer opportunities that exist.  If you want to get on Alice’s volunteer list, you can reach her at volunteer@onecityschools.org.  If you missed today’s presentation, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/8_lpEl64PSU
