Governor's Message
Rotary Serving Humanity is the theme that Rotary International President John Germ has chosen for this Rotary year. I very much like the theme because it speaks to everything we do in Rotary. Each club is very different in their focus and projects, but everything we do serves humanity in one way or another.

Governor's Message
Rotary Serving Humanity is the theme that Rotary International President John Germ has chosen for this Rotary year. I very much like the theme because it speaks to everything we do in Rotary. Each club is very different in their focus and projects, but everything we do serves humanity in one way or another.

We can serve humanity by cheering up a fellow Rotarian at a weekly club meeting. We can serve humanity by participating in a project in our community. Or, we can spread our wings and visit another community either in our home country or another place in the world to help in one of our six areas of service:

• Peace and Conflict Prevention/ Resolution

• Disease Prevention and Treatment

• Water and Sanitation

• Maternal and Child Health

• Basic Education and Literacy

• Economic and Community Development

While our Rotary District is large both geographically and in numbers of Rotarians, our committee structure allows each Rotarian to connect with the area of service that fits.

We publish a District Directory at the beginning of each Rotary year. If you do not have a hard copy of this directory, it is available to each of us by going to the District website, Rotary5020.org/ Directory. There you will find not only the committee chairs (Foundation, Membership, Literacy, International Service, Public Image, Vocational Service and Youth Exchange,  to name a few) but individual members of the committees are also listed.

You may want to be a part of a particular committee, or you or your club members may want some help from a committee or two. Feel free to contact committee chairs or members of any of our District committees for help or to offer help. Our District volunteers are here to help you.

Don and I look forward to meeting each of you as we travel through the District meeting with clubs and groups of clubs.
