Wonderful weather made for an already exciting event to be perfect. The moment finally arrived to break ground on the Gordon Family YMCA. With the support of Rotary and the Sumner community at large, it was a day to be remembered.

From Sumner High School:
The 9th Annual Community Dinner is coming up. This means we will once again be serving over 800 members of the community, a free, hot meal in spirit of the holiday season. We will also be providing pictures with Santa, two to three free gifts for each child, and a beautiful holiday gathering that builds community.

The rain didn't dampen the spirit or enthusiasm of our hard-working Rotarians and volunteers who worked tirelessly to help make the 2013 Windmill Gardens "Girls Night Out" a great success! After several months of planning, networking and "gentle" reminders of needed donations and fine wine, it all came to fruition! View photos from the event here.

Thank you for making the sign raising an exciting success. We heard from Sumner Mayor Dave Enslow, YMCA President and CEO Bob Ecklund, community champion Barb Bitetto, Sumner Y donor Pat Duffy, YMCA Vice President Michelle LaRue, and Y teen participant Mallory. Your generosity and support will lead us to exceed our $10M fundraising goal to break ground in April 2014.
Look for yard signs around town displaying Y pride. Contact Renée Quinn to pick up your sign. View pictures and feel free to share with your family and friends. For those unable to attend, we missed you and hope to see you soon!
