The Celebration of the Life of Natalie E. Bryson (1931-2018) will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018, 2 p.m., at Klahowya Secondary School, 7607 NW Newberry Hill Road, Silverdale, WA 98383.

We lost our beloved Natalie Bryson on June 19 at the age of 87, but to us she was ageless.  So much has been said and will be said in tribute to Natalie that it’s impossible to capture here, so instead we searched the photo archives for some memories that typify why she will be missed so much.

On the left Natalie was distributing 3rd Grade Dictionaries and telling the girls about Rotary and the Four Way Test on the inside label.

Natalie loved to share this story about being the first female Rotarian in Kitsap County in 1987: a District 5020 Governor told her that she was chosen to be the first woman because she was “safe and reliable!”

Representative Derek Kilmer paid a glowing tribute to Natalie on the floor of the House of Representatives on June 21.  See the video clip at https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4736904/rep-kilmer-speaks-natalie-bryson.

Representative Kilmer also said the following in his July 2, 2018 Newsletter to constituents: "Two weeks ago, Kitsap County lost one of its best leaders, and I lost a dear friend, Natalie Bryson. I had the chance to wish her well from the House floor shortly before she passed, and the Kitsap Sun wrote a fitting tribute to her. She helped define the spirit of our community. She stood up for what was right, and spoke out when she saw injustice. As we celebrate our Independence later this week, I can’t help to think that the Founders would have been proud of folks like Natalie who used her right of free speech to speak up for so many."
