Program on October 3: Mock Interview Project – Round 2
Back by popular demand, our club welcomed six local job seekers to our meeting on October 3. Partners for Work is a program that unites Rotary clubs with social service agencies to increase employment outcomes for adults with developmental disabilities. The program supplied the materials for the Mock Interview session, social service agencies brought the job seekers, and our business-savvy Rotarians did the rest.

“The job seekers picked up some important interview techniques,” commented Heidi Johnson, Employment Specialist with Easterseals Washington. “And more than that, they left with boosted confidence and some job leads,” Johnson concluded.
With most businesses struggling with recruiting and retaining employees, preparing people who want to work, but have some challenges, makes great sense. The Silverdale Rotary Club is honored to promote inclusion in our community, and to motivate clubs around the world to do the same.
Rotarian of the Month - Frank Guthrie
President Elect Steve Boe honored Frank Guthrie as Rotarian of the Month for the month of July 2019 for his unwavering commitment to the Duck Race as the godfather of Big Ducks (wrangler, duck repair, duck cleaning, storage, inventory, and more!), and other Rotary meetings and events. Way to go Frank! Steve also gave Frank a certificate for his son Danny (pictured below on right with Frank) for his tireless help to Frank.  Thank you Frank and Danny!
Thank you to you and your son Danny for your combined help through the years!

Silverdale Rotarians Recognize Navy and Coast Guard Service Members

Every quarter Silverdale Rotarians take the opportunity to host and recognize and thank outstanding military service members from various installations and commands in Kitsap County.  It is truly an eye opening experience to hear first hand about how they perform critical missions "right next door." These individuals are accompanied by their Command representatives who introduce them and provide insight into the amazing jobs they do every day, as well as the volunteer community service they perform.
