On February 3, a contingent of Silverdale Rotarians attended a very successful Poulsbo Rotary Club Fund Raiser at My Girl in Kingston.  The beneficiaries are three non-profits serving South Africa: Side by Side, Days for Girls South Africa, and Game-Changer for Girls.   (See related article below this one. )
Our contingent carried donations from our Club and individual Rotarians.  We are delighted to report that the total funds raised exceeded $50,000!
This is not the first time that Silverdale Rotary has supported Days for Girls, as we have awarded several sizable Duck Buck Grants to the Poulsbo Chapter of Days for Girls, who has been partnering with Side by Side South Africa to distribute hygiene kits and provide hygiene training in South Africa.
Rotarians know how to have fun while doing serious fund raising business!   The event was a lot of fun, with a 50's theme.  Pictured here are Silverdale Rotarians Elayne and Steve Burton in their best 50s costumes!
