Vocational Service Chair Scott Park, opened the program by introducing Command Master Chief Beau Willis from Naval Base Kitsap. Honored to join us in recognizing his sailors, the Master Chief began with Culinary Specialist 3, Cheyenne Frank, as the Junior Sailor of the Quarter. CS3 Frank has served in the Navy for five years including a tour on the USS Stennis, and she is raising two sons while assigned to shore duty.
Blue Jacket of the Quarter went to Learning Support and Special Needs Specialist Julia Rice. LSSN Rice is originally from Bulgaria, and she will soon serve a second tour in Japan. She is married and has a seven month old son.
Aviation Boatwain’s Mate Mark Dalmacio, proudly received the award for Senior Sailor of the Quarter. Originally from Lake Tahoe, ABE Dalmacio is in his seventh year of service and has led the command’s Leadership Certificate Program.
Chief Cody Thornton was brought to the microphone to honor Yeoman Angel Escobedo. YN2 Escobedo’s work toward the command’s achievement of a year of zero DUIs for sailors made him an obvious choice for Sailor of the Quarter. Escobedo served in Japan for two years, and he hails from Riverside, California.
Congratulations to all these hard working sailors!  Silverdale Rotarians and guests were so proud to meet and hear from our dedicated and highly skilled service men and women!
