Thanks go out to Debi Brooks-Givens for sharing a Rotary Moment on her birthday and on her first meeting following a long vacation. Debi first met Rotarians in 2003, but it took several years before she understood the comaraderie, shared purpose and meaningful service that is associated with the Club. Her recent cruise to the Grand Cayman Islands brought an opportunity for her to educate others on the great work that Rotary does locally and around the world.

She became known as the “Lady with the Duck Hat,” and she frequently shared about polio eradication and clean water projects. While on a bus tour in one of the ports, Debi’s teachings were validated as the vehicle rounded a corner and the group saw community garbage cans with large Rotary wheel logos. “See,” she told her bus mates, “Rotary is Everywhere!”
