Did you know up to 900 new mothers die from traumatic bleeding each year?
Platelets are needed for a variety of life-saving treatments including chemotherapy and transfusion packages for emergencies such as post-partum bleeding. Bloodworks Board of Trustees member Molly Firth wasn’t aware of these stats – until she suffered her own traumatic birth experience. Check out Molly’s story on the Bloodworks NW blog and help other patients in local hospitals by donating at the Silverdale Rotary Platelet Drive.

WHEN:  Friday, October 5th  8am – 4pm
WHERE:  Bloodworks Northwest, 3230 NW Randall Way, Silverdale

Platelet donations take a little longer (about 1.5 hours).  Can't donate platelets? Come on in between 8-4 and donate whole blood (about 45min).

Can't donate at all?  Ask family, coworkers and friends.  There will be other people from the community donating on this day - volunteer in the canteen and you can share the Rotary mission with them. This is a great opportunity for like minded members of our community to see Rotary in action!

To make an appointment or for questions about eligibility call 1-800-398-7888 x2 or go here.  Please remember to eat a good meal, drink plenty of water and bring a photo I.D.
