Rotarian David Jordan (pictured) shared briefly about his and his wife’s upcoming trip to Uganda in partnership with Children of the Nations (COTN Thank you to the Rotarians who donated soccer and rugby balls for them to take over with them as they will work with an orphanage with 700+ kids.
Additionally, our Rotary Kids of Action came in before the meeting and stuffed 120 pencil bags with school supplies such as pencils, pencil sharpeners, pens, compasses and protractors for David and Rachel to take as well.

Thank you Kids of Action!
Rotarian Jim Barker with Children of the Nations (COTN) introduced James Okalo (pictured), the COTN Country Director for Uganda, who spoke about the impact that Rotary has had there. James has served with COTN for 13 years. He shared that they are so grateful for the lifeline that our own Silverdale Rotary Club threw to Northern Uganda several years ago. This has provided them hope. They are able to offer the people in their area access to their campus programs. This intervention promotes change, creates jobs rather than job seekers, and ultimately democracy.
It’s a blessing to see how Rotary has touched so many.
