On December 20, we were visited by Stacey Saunders and Brandon Myers (pictured below), Chair and Vice Chair of the Central Kitsap Community Council (CKCC). Stacey and Brandon reminded us that the 20-year-old Council exists to facilitate and improve communication among the Central Kitsap community and the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).

Projects put forth by CKCC include a recently completed survey regarding the vision for Old Town Silverdale and a potential “Adopt an Orca” art project that allows community groups and businesses to decorate large fiberglass orcas that would be placed in prominent Silverdale locations.

Want to feel more connected to our local government? The CKCC welcomes ad hoc committee members and invites the public to its meetings which occur on the first Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Silverdale Beach Hotel. More information can be found at https://www.kitsapgov.com/BOC_p/Pages/CKCC.aspx.
