Dear Friends,

We need your help.

Judi and I first dated in high school and have been happily married for 45 years. We have been quite fortunate in our lives to have been able to help others as a nurse and in public safety. Today, we are asking for your help.

Judi has been diagnosed with a rare disease known as FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerular Sclerosis) which has resulted in kidney failure. She currently is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, and it could be 3 to 5 years or more to find a cadaver donor.

The University of Washington’s Transplant Team encourages us to actively seek a living donor before Judi needs to go on dialysis, which now sadly may happen sooner than we thought.

It is a very difficult thing to ask for; however, some folks are exceptionally altruistic and are willing to donate such an amazing life-saving gift. Our kids and I have been ruled out (I actually offered her two of mine, but I didn’t even qualify for one!) ❤️

Please see the link to the UWMC Living Donor Questionnaire below for additional information. Also, the Transplant Team stresses the importance of a “living donor champion” - a person or group to help get the message out. Such efforts can greatly increase the number of people who may consider a living donation.

It’s going to be a tough road, but we are confident that with the support of friends and family, we will make it through. Please help us by sharing this post.

Our hearts thank you.

Steve, Sean, Tamara & Andrew
