On December 12, Rotarian Mary Hoover (above left) presented Marilyn Hawks of CK Food Backpacks for Kids with a check for $1,995.  These funds are enough to stuff backpacks with food for 250 at-risk families to eat for a weekend.  Ms. Hawks related that while the families remain anonymous, one time a teenager connected with one of their volunteers and shared his story of gratitude for the backpacks of food that went back to when he was in grade school!  For more information about CK Food Backpacks for Kids, go to
Our Club is able to make this Duck Bucks grant thanks to the generosity of Sponsors of the annual Silverdale Rotary Duck Race and the community who purchases duck tickets.  Rotarians - People of Action!
