On October 27, Rotary President Elect Kim Peterson presented a $550 Duck Bucks grant to the Peninsula Dance Theatre (PDT).  Accepting the check were Mallory Morrison (Assistant Director) and Lawan Morrison (Artistic Director).

Each fall, PDT's Apprentices and Junior Company members (ages 11-13) take a ballet on tour to Kitsap County's elementary school assemblies to entertain and educate young students in the art of dance.  The company members learn many skills in addition to performance: public speaking, organization and production, and hair and makeup to name a few.  Also, often this is the first (and only) time students in the schools can experience dance and theatre arts.

Silverdale Rotary has a proud history of supporting youth in our community, and Duck Race proceeds make this possible.  For more information about Peninsula Dance Theatre (and specifically The Rainbow Fish tour), go to http://www.peninsuladancetheatre.org/the-rainbow-fish.html .
