In a huge community effort, Silverdale Rotary purchased a truckload of food which was  loaded and unloaded, transported, and staged for Rotary and community volunteers and their families to prepare 300 bags of food for those in need during the holidays.  Thanks to Rotarian Christie Scheffer who masterminded and coordinated the cadre of businesses and organizations for this effort.

Special thanks go to:
  • Grocery Outlet - Manager James Gochmansky - who worked hard to find good deals on healthy food, and Lisa and Lynn who helped load the truck
  • Rancho Storage Center - Silverdale - Ms. Boe who loaned us the truck to transport food
  • Paratransit Services who donated $981 towards food to supplement Silverdale Rotary Club funds
  • Seabeck Conference Center who provided the space to safely (masked and socially distanced) stage and load food bags
  • Silverdale Safeway who donated 300 reusable bags
  • Also, a big thanks to the Central Kitsap School District for identifying the families and helping to distribute the food
