This is the 10th year of distributing 3rd Grade Dictionaries!
On March 2, Silverdale Rotarians finished delivering 450 3rd Grade Dictionaries to the last two of our assigned six elementary schools in the CKSD: Cougar Valley and Silver Ridge.  Pictured below on left is our Rotary Youth Exchange Student Ata Celik from Turkey  and Rotarian Ed Ahrens in the background distributing the books at Cougar Valley Elementary.
Each book has a label on the inside cover where they write their names (because it's their very own book!), and it states that the dictionaries are from East Bremerton and Silverdale Rotary Clubs.
Pictured below center is Rotarian Chuck Kraining explaining about Rotary (with Rotarian Frank Guthrie looking on), and how we raise the funds for Dictionaries - the Silverdale Rotary Duck Race.
Students are also introduced to the Rotary Four Way Test on the label - see below.   "Does anyone know what 'Beneficial' means?  Let's look it up!"
Thanks to East Bremerton Rotary for coordinating the overall project to deliver dictionaries to all 12 elementary schools in Central Kitsap School District. That's a total of around 900 hard cover books!  Thanks to United Moving and Storage in East Bremerton for providing the staging area for all the books. And thanks to our own Rotarian Chuck Kraining who coordinated with all the schools and organized the Rotarians doing the deliveries.  This is one of our most fun projects!
