City Public Works Director  to speak at Freeport Rotary Club 
 
FREEPORT, Ill., Nov. 11, 2020 — The Freeport Noon Rotary Club will meet using Zoom technology at noon on Monday, November 16th. The local club meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at noon through Zoom technology. The guest speaker will Rob Boyer, City Public Works Director.
 
William (Rob) Boyer is the Public Works Director for the City of Freeport. Rob has 22 years of organizational leadership in both public and private organizations and has a strong background in public works and utilities.  He is a United States Marine Corps veteran and served honorably as a Plane Captain and Crew Chief on heavy-lift helicopters while stationed in Hawaii.
 
Rob has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois and is a member of the Global Honor Society for Public Administrators. Additionally, Rob earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational and Professional Development form Eastern Illinois University, where he received Dean’s List honors.
 
Freeport Rotary Club was established in 1919 to provide service to others and promote integrity through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Club participates in local services projects targeting youth literacy, scholarly recognition, student international exchange, and purchasing shoes for disadvantaged youth. Meetings are held at noon on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month through Zoom until they can return to the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. For more information, contact Tonya Thayer at 815-599-7213.
