President's Message

Thank you to all of those that attended last week and heard our District Governor’s plan for District 5330 for the 2018-19 Rotary year.  Gov. Loretta has a lot of plans, making it “all about the club”. Ironically, his plan matches mine very closely: Build membership and increase attendance.

This week, yours truly takes the floor with an open forum discussion on what our club’s goals and aspirations for the upcoming year will be...The biggest one being increasing membership and attendance.....seeing a theme?

It’s going to be a great year.... there are a lot of you I will be counting on for many things, and I will appreciate your support.  I am VERY aware how much of a struggle it can be to take a few hours out of the middle of your Tuesday to have lunch, especially for us “still working” folk.... but to truly build the excitement needed to help us get to the “100 members for 100 years” goal, it will take extra effort from ALL club members. In summary, please make a strong push towards having lunch with me on Tuesdays....you may just get to hear one of Jim Smith’s jokes.

See you all when I see you!

Mike

RI President-elect Barry Rassin’s theme for 2018-19, Be the Inspiration, asks Rotarians to inspire change in the world and in each other. “I ask all of you to Be the Inspiration to help Rotary move from reaction to action — to take a hard look at the environmental issues that affect health and welfare around the world and do what we can to help.”

Barry Rassin earned an MBA in health and hospital administration from the University of Florida, and is the first fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives in the Bahamas. He recently retired after 37 years as president of Doctors Hospital Health System and continues as an adviser. He is a lifetime member of the American Hospital Association and has served on several boards, including the Quality Council of the Bahamas, Health Education Council, and Employer’s Confederation.
