EBR meets every Wednesday for Breakfast. Fifth Wednesday was conceived as a means to get together on a more social basis and perhaps learn something at the same time. On September 25thwe will meet at the Hales Barrelhouse (1509 N Wycoff Ave, Bremerton)at 5:30. We've got Amy Steinhilber, the director of the Washington Youth Academy lined up as a guest speaker.
The Washington Youth Academy is a National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program. The WYA is a state-run residential and post-residential intervention for youth who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out. The Washington Youth Academy is a six month quasi-military training and mentoring program. The goal of the program is to give youth a second chance to become responsible and productive citizens by helping them improve their life skills, education levels, and employment potential. In addition to their schooling the Cadets volunteer to serve the community. They support EBR with work parties at the Illahee Preserve, and at the Bremerton Armed Forces Festival Heroes Barbeque.
Since this is an educational meeting attendance counts as a makeup! To encourage our new members, the first drink is on us for all members of less than one year.  Bring a friend, come out a greet us and learn more about East Bremerton Rotary!
