Our very own KR Wood recently received the Wrangler Award for the Best Original Western Composition for the song "Nickel a Head" about the Waco Suspension Bridge. They charged a Nickel a head for each Texas Longhorn to cross the Brazos River on the Old Chisholm Trail. He is pictured above at the Western Heritage Museum and Cowboy Hall of Fame.
