Polio Walk

The Surrey-Newton Rotary Club thanks everyone for their support and participation with their first annual Polio Walk this Thanksgiving weekend. We would like to appreciate  our first sponsor Bruce Kehler of Canex Building Supplies  for contributing in honour of his late father Abraham Kehler (1923-1990), who struggled with Polio when he was 6 years old. Despite his condition, he learned to crawl, walk and run again.
Throughout the day we received many generous donations, one of which was from Mr. & Mrs. Sran Gurdev Singh Bal who not only matched our grand total for the day, but nearly tripled it. We are incredibly appreciative of everyone who helped make the event a success and made the world one step closer to the complete eradication of Polio.
Our Polio Math for today:
We raised $7500
The Canadian Government will double that with $15,000
Bill & Melinda Gates will also double it with $15,000
= $37,500 towards the Polio Plus Fund all because of you!
= 340,909 children will receive the Polio vaccination
