If anyone finds themselves in the northern Chicagoland area, it is worth a short road trip to Rotary International Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois.    I visited the offices in May and discovered some great information in the lobby.   They have displays on Rotary history, accomplishments and ongoing worldwide projects.  The lobby displays are open on the weekends even when the office building is closed.  And, Evanston (home of Northwestern University) is a terrific town filled with shops and restaurants.

The 2015 Easter Seals Camp Fairlee work was in support of the Eagle Scout Project for Jacob Vassalotti. Jacob's project involved design and construction of an accessible bridge. The bridge would allow campers to cross an intermittent stream channel leading to a remote campsite. The effort also involved trail clearing to provide access to the bridge and campsite. Some 25 Rotarians, Boy Scouts, family and friends all lent a hand to complete the project.

The Caesar Rodney Rotary Club completed construction of a 675 sq ft timber framed shade porch at the Easter Seals Camp Fairlee Manor near Chestertown, MD. The project was completed by a generous grant from Rotary District 7630 as well as considerable donations from local businesses: MDavis, Inc., Spacecon, LLC, MacIntosh Engineering, GTA Associates, Heritage Concrete, East Coast Erectors, and Shone Lumber. Under the project leadership of John Gooden of MDavis, Inc. and President-Elect of Caesar Rodney Rotary, Club Members volunteered well over 500 hours to the project.

The shade porch provides a pool-side respite location from the sun for the camper, a controlled viewing area for the caregiver and a break from sudden inclement weather for all. It also allows for additional recreational activities to be introduced pool side. Overall, it enhances the campers experience and provides an additional resource for caregivers to reach their mission.

On May 13, 2011 the CRRC Board formally approved a payment policy that specifies that all club invoices are to be paid "net 30".  The Caesar Rodney Rotary Club depends on the membership dues to pay for meeting expenses and to help support the many projects that the club undertakes.  At times, the club has had accounts receivable greater than $10,000 90+ days old.

CRRC members are encouraged to review the policy and if they have any questions at all concerning the policy or their account, they should contact the Club Treasurer. The policy may be found in the documents section.
