The Bremerton Rotary Foundation has an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise money for its Endowment Fund, which will provide high school scholarships once the $1 million goal is met. Currently we have more than $500,000 in the account. In June, the Drive to $1 Million Campaign raised $44,000 in donations. Five local businesses--Orchard Foods; Reid Realty; Sanchez, Mitchell, Eastman & Cure; Kitsap Credit Union; and Lewis Funeral Chapel; with the Kitsap Sun as media sponsor--provided a $17,000 matching challenge grant. To donate to the Bremerton Rotary Endowment Fund, click on the Donate button in the left-hand column of this page.

These businesses are challenging Bremerton Rotary and our community to match this grant for a total of $34,000.  All monies raised will be added to the Bremerton Rotary Foundation Endowment Fund which is currently valued at $507,400.  This endowment fund was established in 1998, and will be used to fund higher learning scholarships for Bremerton School District students looking to be the first in their family to go to college.

It is the vision of Bremerton Rotary that this endowment fund be grown to a point where annual earnings can be disbursed and used as scholarships for Bremerton School District students.  Once our endowment reaches $1,000,000 we believe that $30,000 can be reliably disbursed annually, while not reducing the principal amount.  So far, these scholarships have been provided by Club fundraising.  As you see, we have some work to do to reach our goal.
