About Our Club
Work on the establishment of a Rotary Club in Hope Island commenced in 2002 and, with the guidance of Past District Governor, Ian Yarker, and the hard work of a range of people including our Charter President, Keith Wilson and Warren Fowler from our sponsoring club, Runaway Bay, our club was officially chartered on 26 February 2003.
We currently have over 40 active members along with 11 honorary members. Our active members consist of small business owners, professionals and those not in the active workforce. We are a mix of men and women ranging in age from mid 20's right up to something a bit more than that ! Regardless of who you are we like to think we have something to offer for everyone !

General Information.
Our Location.
Located at the northern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia the Rotary Club of Hope Island is part of Rotary District 9640, an area that covers parts of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. The area is renowned for its three championship golf courses and close proximity to both beaches and theme parks. The area we service includes a mix of retirees and young professional families and is home to around 10,500 people (as at 30 June 2016) though that number is growing rapidly due to ongoing development. The key locations within the suburb of Hope Island include Hope Island Resort and Sanctuary Cove.
Meeting Details.
We have regular club meetings, most Wednesday mornings from 6:45am to 8:15am at the Sanctuary Cove Golf Club. The Golf Club is located at The Parkway, Sanctuary Cove, 4212 and you can view a map by clicking here.
On occasion we vary this for social events, vocational or community visits, or meetings with other clubs. Please refer to our calendar for up to date meeting details.
We generally like to have a guest speaker most weeks, often from outside the club but also from our own cadre of members at times - these meetings are often suited for non-Rotarian guests. We also have regular 'club assemblies' at which there are no guest speakers but instead are used to engage the Board, Committees and other members.

Incorporation & Registration Details.
The Rotary Club of Hope Island Inc. is an Incorporated Association registered (IA31895) in Queensland under the Associations Incorporations Act (1981) and is subject to the Associations Incorporation Regulation (1999).
The Club is also registered (CP6406) under the Collections Act (1966) in Queensland to collect funds for Charitable Purposes subject to the Collections Regulation (2008).
The Club also holds an Australian Business Number (ABN 27 636 201 125).
