Managing Your State of Washington Tax Dollars

Washington’s 23rd State Treasurer, Duane Davidson was born and raised in Carnation, Washington. He attended Bellevue College and went on to graduate from Central Washington University with an Accounting degree.

After college, he moved with his wife to Kennewick, Washington, became a CPA and started his career with the State Auditor’s Office. In 2003, he was elected Benton County Treasurer where he served until he was elected State Treasurer in 2016.

As State Treasurer, Duane has brought “Service, Security, & Transparency” to the office. He has created an outreach initiative for the public and has worked to promote financial education throughout Washington.

Duane is a longtime Kiwanian, serving as the past-president for two separate Kiwanis Clubs. In his spare time, he enjoys studying history, restoring his 1974 Ford Bronco, and traveling back to the Tri-Cities to visit his three children, Bailey, Luke, and Kenzie.

Our 4th of July holiday will pre-empt Rotary for this day.   The Aberdeen Splash festival will be going and and we encourage both Rotarians and Non-Rotarians to enjoy the event and find your own way to celebrate and honor our nation's birthday.

Meet our New Exchange Student and Other Fun Stuff

Our summer picnic and BBQ is a chance to meet our newest Exchange Student.  The event will take place at the home of Rotarian Lisa Smith and she will be hosting along with her husband, Chad and daughter.

The Event will begin around 5:30 PM.  It will be a BBQ with side dish potluck.  This means you should bring a salad, side dish, dessert, chips or ???.   Lemonade and water will be served; if you require something stronger, you will be responsible for bringing in yourself.

Along with our new exchange student, we will be inviting this year's Youth Exchange Host families for you to meet.  The address is 31 Miller Lane in Montesano.  Directions will be provided later.
