President Bob Beaumont called the meeting to order promptly at 07:15 followed by leading us all in the Pledge of Allegiance. In the absence of Pastor Ron Bob then gave a nice invocation. After welcoming guests speakers Mary Booth and Holly Kopp from the SAD 75 Educational Foundation (Trust for our Future) Bob called upon Fred Burgess for Happy / Sad dollars.  Fred started with Prez. Bob who had a happy dollar for having Mary and Holly at the meeting. Bob also had a happy dollar for his Grandson’s second birthday and the news that a Granddaughter is on the way. Guest speaker Holly had a happy dollar for summer in Maine. Like Bob Beaumont, Bob Davis had a happy dollar for our guest speakers. Gordon had a happy dollar for successfully shooting a Porcupine that had been taken up residence in his son’s yard and bothering the family dog. Gordon’s Presidential question was easier than usual. What President had his daughter, Susan, High School Prom at the White House? Answer Gerald Ford. It would have been tougher without knowing the daughters name.

Under Announcements we had:

- No Meeting Next week – July 3 due to the Holiday.
-Club President Change over will be the following week, Monday, July 10
-Semi-annual dues are due. Still a bargain at $60.
-The Club Membership listing has been updated on the RI site in advance of the July 12 dues billing from RI.
-Prez. Bob had a brief health update on Bill Gillespie. He is not doing well but still spends some time at the office several days a week. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and drop him a line or quick call occasionally.

Bob Davis then introduced our guest speakers, Mary Booth and Holly Kopp, both from MASD 75 who gave an interesting presentation on the MASD 75 Educational Foundation with the official name “Trust for our Future”. The Foundation is a non-profit that raises money to fund competitive grants to staff that allows them to try small group innovative teaching and learning projects that may then have applicability across a wider portion of the student population. Mary showed several short videos of recent projects including programing micro-bots that fostered teamwork and collaboration among students and a literacy program that had a class of ninth grade students individually interviewing residents of the Highlands and then writing their stories and compiling them into a book that was distributed to the Highlands.

Again an interesting, informative program. I hope to see you all tomorrow for the Bob and Bob show.
