I am deeply honored to be the President of the Rotary Club of Victoria, Canada for the 2017-2018 year. When PRIPs Gary Huang and Rick King signed my proposal for membership, I had no idea of the journey I was about to take. This club is amazing.  Everyone supports each other and that is why we are over 100 years old and continue to prosper.

We are very proud of our Rotary Club of Victoria Foundation V90 and its work in our community.  We will recognize our own Rotarians and the impact they have had on others. We will again have an International Project and an exchange student.  Preparations for our Gala have begun… and the Food Rescue Program is a great success.  We will enjoy activities outside of our weekly club meeting and take part in local events.”

The theme for this year  is “Rotary, Making a Difference” and we will strive to make that difference, from International projects to right here in our own community. My husband, Terry, is our District Polio Plus Chair and I am a polio survivor.  We are passionate about Polio Plus and the eradication of polio. In 1985, 1,000 children were struck by polio - every single year.  Rotarians have worked so hard to see children safe from this horror, long past the time we expected it to be done…yet you continue the battle.

WE WILL END POLIO.,I am so proud tn. be a Rotarian

Yours in Rotary,  Joan Toone, President, Rotary Club of Victoria
