Shelbourne Community Kitchen

Kim has been with the Shelbourne Community Kitchen since the organization first began, over 11 years ago, and now serves as its Executive Director. The Kitchen is a warm and welcoming neighbourhood food centre dedicated to supporting individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity by providing dignified access to fresh, healthy food, along with food skills education and garden programs.

With a background in culinary arts and food service management, Kim has over a decade of experience working in both commercial kitchens and community-based settings. During her time at Camosun College in the Culinary Arts Program, she launched a student-run farmers market and box program that connected local farmers with students to increase access to affordable, fresh produce.

Kim is passionate about building strong partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and local leaders to create food programs that are practical, sustainable, and impactful. She believes that access to healthy food is essential for a thriving community and is dedicated to working with a wide range of partners to build a future where everyone has the food they need to live healthy, active lives.
