Dr. Hoenig will discuss everything you always wanted to know (or maybe you didn’t want to know…) about eggs—various types of husbandry for laying hens, why Maine was a leader in brown egg production for many years, food safety, labeling and animal welfare. He’ll also touch on the complex world of food labeling as it relates to eggs and answer any question if time permits. He may also reveal how an egg issue resulted in his interesting encounter with Fidel Castro in 2005 in Havana. Egg-citing stuff for sure. Let the egg puns begin.
