Community Gears Up for State-of-the-Art Splash Pad Project
The Saco community is set to embark on an exciting venture as plans for a state-of-the-art splash pad project take shape. In collaboration with the Saco Parks and Recreation Department, Rotarians have been diligently finalizing the details to introduce a 1,200 square foot water play adventure park designed for children of all ages. The initiative will showcase six distinct spray elements, including a water ring tunnel, a trio of water bucket tippers, a six-foot spraying umbrella, and additional features. With multiple water spraying elements incorporated, the project aims to ensure that children of all ages and abilities can fully partake in and relish the experience. The chosen location for this exciting addition is the Saco Community Center on Franklin Street, promising accessible and inclusive fun for all.
Commenting on the endeavor, Sommer emphasized the significance of the splash pad, stating, "The project will provide safe and enriching recreational opportunities for children. The anticipated positive impact on the community's youth is profound, promising a brighter, more vibrant future for our kids."
As momentum builds, sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels, starting from $75 and reaching up to $25,000 for coveted naming rights. With each contribution, supporters play a vital role in realizing the vision of a dynamic water play space that will undoubtedly make a splash in Saco. Opening Minds, Building Bridges: A Rotarian Journey with the Open World Program
With the anniversary of the Open World Program, we invite you to read the Rotary Service Blog posted by Rotary International.
"The Open World Program surpassed all expectations, exceeding what we could have imagined. Throughout my years as a Rotarian, I’ve encountered nothing that more profoundly encapsulated the essence of Rotary International: the commitment to serving others, upholding integrity, and fostering global understanding, goodwill, and peace through the collective efforts of our business, professional, and community leaders.
President Paulette Bonneau

Earl A. Goodwin's KINDNESS in the COMMUNITY Day!
The Rotarians of the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club are honored to have spread lots of KINDNESS in the COMMUNITY DAY on December 7, 2022 and again on March 8, 2023!  Rotarians selected a KINDNESS TASK envelope and headed out into the community fulfill an ACT OF KINDNESS in the name of Earl Goodwin.
In Rotary fashion, it is no surprise that Earl choose to give back to Rotary when he passed. In lieu of flowers, he and his wife Stasia, have requested donations be made in Earl's name to the Rotary Club of Biddeford-Saco's Charitable Giving Fund.  Donations can be made to The Earl A. Goodwin Memorial Fund and mailed to The Rotary Club of Biddeford-Saco, PO Box 298, Saco, ME 04072.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the Earl A. Goodwin Charitable Fund may send their contribution to the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club, PO Box 298, Saco, ME 04072. Thank you.
